Brian Anderson achieved his undergrad from Illinois State University.  Later he went on to earn his Master of Science in Supply Chain from Elmhurst College. 

Currently, Brian is a business professional responsible for Global Purchasing & Planning at Duracell (a Berkshire Hathaway Company).  In the past, he has operated businesses in Illinois and Minnesota for Berkshire. Brian has achieved status as Master Black Belt in Six Sigma & Lean manufacturing all focusing in process improvement within organizations.  In addition to his career at Duracell, he has taught Supply Chain in both Graduate school and Undergraduate programs at Elmhurst College for the past 11 years.

After a short tenure on the Delegate Assembly, Brian was elected to the board in 2015. He has seen the development of a new Strategic Plan, important curriculum changes and a focus on reducing the achievement gap for our minority students.  During his time on the Board, the district passed its first referendum in the last 20 years.  Brian currently serves on the Parent and Financial Advisory committees.  In addition to being on the board in District 102, Brian holds the position of marketing chair for the Village Field Club of La Grange Park, and is a member of the Adjunct Council at Elmhurst College.  
 
Brian and his wife Sandy, along with their two children, have resided in La Grange Park for the past 17 years.  Both of their children currently attend Park Jr. High, their son in seventh grade and daughter in eighth grade.

Matt Scotty received his Master’s degree from the Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University in Finance and Organizational Behavior, and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Matt’s professional career has been in higher education finance. After working at a local regional bank, he founded two higher education companies, National Education Servicing and National Ed Financing, which serviced and owned over $1.4 billion in student loan assets. Matt served as President of these companies until he helped sell them in late 2017.

In May 2011, after several years of serving on the district's Financial Advisory Committee, Matt joined the board.  Since becoming a board member he has seen many positive changes including new curriculum implementations, the hiring and transition of the Superintendent, Dr. Schumacher, and the passing of the first referendum in District 102 in 20 years. 

Matt and his family have lived in District 102 for 22 years.  He currently resides in La Grange with his wife Donna and their four daughters; all of who previously attended Cossitt and Park Junior High. Two of his kids currently attend LT, and two are in college. In addition to his own children, Matt has five nieces and nephews that attended District 102 schools.

Jason Kowalczyk holds a master's degree in human services and counseling from DePaul University.  He has been a case manager and program manager at various social service agencies. While at these positions he provided assessment, case management, and counseling services to individuals and families in low to no income situations.  In addition, he helped develop and manage a case management program through collaboration with internal and external partners to offer services in the areas of employment, financial assistance, housing, and healthcare. 

Jason was elected to the District 102 Board of Education in April 2015.  He and his wife have lived in La Grange Park for ten years and have two children attending school within District 102.  Their children are in 5th grade and Kindergarten.  Jason has been a stay-at-home dad for the past 9 years and has taken the opportunity to volunteer at their schools throughout their education.

Dr. Amanda Mulcahy Jandris is a fully tenured professor of education research at Concordia University Chicago. She earned her Ph.D. in 2005 from Loyola University Chicago in the area of research methodology with a focus on educational research and leadership from both quantitative and mixed method perspectives. She earned a master’s degree in education with a middle school endorsement in 2001. Prior to her work at Concordia University, Dr. Jandris, who holds Illinois teaching and administrative certificates, taught science, physical education, and served as a special education aide in Oak Park District 97 and Palos Heights District 128. 

Since joining the faculty at Concordia University in 2004, Dr. Jandris has served in many roles in addition to teaching research methods and statistics courses at the master’s and doctoral levels. She has been department chair; director of the University’s doctoral programs and now serves as the University’s Director of Human Subjects Research Compliance. As part of this work, Dr. Jandris reviews and approves all research at Concordia including over 2,000 school based research projects in P-12 settings over the past five years.

Dr. Jandris is also an internationally published scholar in the area of research based decision-making and educational assessment and change. Her scholarly work also includes contracted consulting on multiple projects including: feasibility and needs assessment studies for Illinois colleges; state-wide data analysis of higher education data; data analysis related to retention and attrition for strategic enrollment projects; survey and focus group data analysis for strategic planning in the largest school district in the state of Arizona; program evaluation for National Science Foundation grants; survey development related to ethics and district leadership in Illinois; and, analysis of administrator perceptions of teacher evaluation systems in suburban Cook County.

Amanda was elected to the District 102 board in April 2015. She and her husband have lived in the La Grange area since 2005 and have two elementary aged children.

Dr. Edward Campbell completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Illinois, at the Champaign-Urbana and Chicago campuses, respectively. With his Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology, Dr. Campbell undertook postdoctoral research and training at Northwestern University in the Feinberg School of Medicine, in the lab of Tom Hope, before joining the faculty of Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago in 2008, where he is now an associate professor with tenure. 

Dr. Campbell’s research investigates the underlying mechanisms of human diseases, which currently include HIV-1 infection, neurodegenerative diseases and diseases of inflammation. Dr. Campbell has published over 40 peer-reviewed publications, including publications in Nature Reviews and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. His research has been funded by eight grants from the National Institute of Health, two grants from the Michael J. Fox Foundation and a Distinguished Investigator Award from the Emerald Foundation. Dr. Campbell is currently a standing member of the AIDS Molecular and Cellular Biology (AMCB) study section which reviews grant applications for the NIH. Dr. Campbell has served as primary mentor to 2 Ph.D. students, 2 M.D./Ph.D. students and 9 M.S. students and has twice been awarded the Faculty Member of the Year award in recognition for outstanding mentorship and teaching by the graduate students at Stritch School of Medicine. 

Ed and his wife have three children, two of which attend Congress Park Elementary School. He currently serves on the Parental Advisory Committee and the Curriculum Committee.

Michael G. Melendez received his B.A. from the University of Chicago and his J.D. from the University of Iowa. Currently, Michael serves as an in-house attorney for the University of Illinois System and has been with the University for over 7 years. In September 2017, Michael was named the Assistant Campus Legal Counsel where he helps manage the Chicago legal office.  Michael is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys and serves on the Association’s Strategic Planning Committee. He currently serves on the University’s Chicago campus Compliance Committee and is a member of its student response team, which is part of the University threat assessment program.

Before attending law school, Michael taught U.S. History and World Studies to high school students at Farragut Career Academy in Chicago, where he also helped coach soccer and baseball. During law school, he interned with the Chicago Public Schools, working on student disciplinary issues and conducting research in the area of constitutional law. After law school he held the title of Associate University Counsel and his responsibilities included managing a significant portion of the Chicago based litigation, and advising on matters relating to: student issues, including Title IX; first amendment and other constitutional concerns; FOIA, FERPA, and OMA; inter-collegiate athletics; real estate and other transactional matters. Michael began his legal career as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois.

Prior to joining the University of Illinois, Michael worked on his own and specialized in civil and criminal defense litigation. While in private practice he also did work for the Chicago Public Schools, serving first as a hearing officer for various administrative proceedings, and then in the External Relations Office where he helped train over 100 local school councils on issues such as OMA and FOIA compliance, school budget management, and principal selection and retention. 

Michael was elected to the LaGrange School District 102 Board of Education in April 2017. Michael and his wife reside in Brookfield and have lived there since 2012. They have three children, and the oldest two attend Congress Park Elementary School. Michael stays active in the community. He coaches his son and daughter’s AYSO soccer teams, their recreational basketball teams, and manages his son’s Brookfield Little League team.

Michael Thomas holds an MBA in General Management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Sociology from the University of Iowa.

Currently, Michael is a Marketing and Advertising professional with over 25 years of experience leading diverse business segments and teams for Consumer Package Goods companies like Smithfield Foods, Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble. Throughout his career, Michael has been involved with the development and execution of marketing and media strategies that have driven brand awareness and accelerated market share growth for multi-billion dollar brands.

Michael is a long-time community member. He has lived in La Grange for 38 years and for the past 13 years resides in La Grange Park with his wife and son.
